Organization Settings

Organization Settings control the identity and operating defaults used across Libcodesk. These settings affect how staff see dates, phone country codes, currency values, import validation, branding, and organization-specific recommendations.

In Libcodesk WebApp, these settings apply to the Cloud organization. In the Standalone app, Local setup keeps the same workflow shape for the local library setup.

Screenshot To Add

Add screenshots of the Organization Settings overview card, General tab, Date Time tab, and Currency tab in desktop and mobile views.

On a phone or narrow window, the logo and Change Logo action share a compact row, followed by the current plan and setup-readiness cards. On wider screens these summaries appear alongside the logo. Scroll down to the settings tabs and forms; changing the window size does not change your entered values.

Branding Image

Use a clear square or near-square logo where possible. Libcodesk crops and optimizes branding images so they display consistently in compact headers and cards.

If the Standalone app is in Local setup, it should show the local organization's logo and not reuse the last cloud organization logo.

Do And Don'ts

Do
  • Set country, date format, time format, and currency carefully before imports.
  • Use the official organization name and contact details.
  • Keep the organization type accurate because recommendations can depend on it.
  • Use the same date format in spreadsheets that you choose here.
Don't
  • Don't change date format casually after importing records.
  • Don't enter phone numbers with duplicate country codes.
  • Don't upload branding images from untrusted or oversized files.
  • Don't choose organization type casually; it can affect recommendations and available setup options.
  • Don't choose a Library Portal link that looks like a Libcodesk service, payment page, support area, or public system page.

FAQ

Why is organization type important?

Organization type helps Libcodesk recommend sensible setup defaults, such as education-focused member templates for schools and colleges or public member workflows for public libraries.

Why does date format matter so much?

Date format controls how staff enter and read dates. Imports must match this format so member dates, renewals, and reports remain consistent.

Can different libraries under the same organization use different time zones?

No. Time zone, date format, time format, and currency are organization-level settings. Libraries under the same organization use the same defaults.

Why is the Save button disabled?

The button stays disabled until Libcodesk detects a real change, such as edited text, a new logo, a new date format, or a changed currency.

Can I edit the organization type manually?

You can select from supported types. If you choose Others, the field can accept a custom label while still keeping recommendations and setup behavior consistent.

What happens if I change the country?

Country affects default phone country code and related contact defaults. Existing records are not silently rewritten just because the organization country changes.

Why does the logo need cropping?

Libcodesk standardizes uploaded logos so they display cleanly in headers, cards, and compact views without stretching or uneven cropping.

Who should change these settings?

Only organization admins should change these settings because they affect imports, pricing, staff workflows, and member forms.
