Circulation Troubleshooting

Start with the message beside the relevant Member lookup or Item lookup field. Libcodesk keeps rejected rows out of an issue queue and preserves blocked attention rows so staff can see the exact reason rather than guessing.

Scanner Or Lookup Problems

ProblemWhat to check
Member scan does not workConfirm the enabled identifiers in Member Lookup Settings. Search by visible Member ID, library card, RFID, name, phone, or email as permitted.
Item scan does not workSearch by an enabled barcode, QR value, accession, RFID, call number, or title. Confirm the copy belongs to the active library.
Exact value is not selected automaticallyConfirm the identifier is unique and exact matching is enabled. Duplicate values must open a selection result.
Search returns too many rowsAdd more characters or use an exact identifier. Use the result filters without hiding the required status/type.
Wrong row appearsCheck duplicate barcode, accession, RFID, visible Member ID, card, phone, or email values.
Multiple-result popup cannot be operatedThe first row should be selected. Use Up/Down and Enter, click anywhere on a row, and use vertical scrolling for longer lists.

Issue And Policy Problems

Reference-only item is rejectedConfirm both reference collection access and Reading Room facility access.
Issue All remains disabledSelect an eligible member and add at least one ready item. Correct or remove attention rows.
Blank Item lookup Enter does nothingThe queue must contain a ready row. With a value present, Enter searches; with a blank field and ready queue, Enter runs Issue All.

Return And Renewal Problems

ProblemWhat to check
Member return scan does not select every rowThis is intentional. Select only physically returned items or use the heading checkbox after reviewing the list.
Scanned returned item is not selectedConfirm the copy has an active loan in the selected library and its identifier is unique.
Return Selected is disabledSelect at least one active returnable loan; already returned or blocked rows are not active returns.
Renew loads the wrong memberStop and verify the scanned copy and active-loan borrower before completing the queue.
Proposed renewal date looks wrongIt should use current due date plus effective renewal duration. Check the plan, matching rule, calendar, and holidays.
Renewed item still appears overdueRefresh and verify the active loan stores the new due date. The old date remains only in Circulation History.

Reservation And Reminder Problems

ProblemWhat to check
Reserve title is not offeredConfirm no issuable copy exists, the selected member does not already hold the title, and the normal issue queue is clear.
Reservation does not become ReadyCheck the returned copy's canonical title, eligibility, queue order, member eligibility, and active library.

App notification is unavailableOPAC app notification requires Cloud setup. Local setup uses only supported configured local channels.
Reminder failedReview Notification History, member contact data, template, gateway/channel, and retry result.

Transaction Memo And Printer Problems

ProblemWhat to check
Print dialog does not openEnable Print transaction memo, select the transaction template/printer behavior, and check browser or operating-system print permission.
Wrong memo format opensCheck the independent Issue, Return, Renew, and Reserve format selections in Printer setup.
Automatic printing opens a dialogThe Standalone app falls back to the system dialog when no usable default printer is available.

History And Data Problems

ProblemWhat to check
History is emptyConfirm the active library, clear search/type filters, and refresh. Missing catalogue display details do not remove recorded events.
Older circulation is missing after an updateRestart or refresh after migration/recovery finishes. Recovery is repeat-safe and should not duplicate events.
Summary loads but history reports an errorUpdate to the current release and retry. If it continues, ask the organization admin to export diagnostic logs.
“Return date not set” is shownThe older/incomplete active transaction has no stored due date. Review and correct the loan; the desk does not invent one.

Need More Help

Staff should ask their organization admin to review permissions, member/plan access, copy status, rules, printer configuration, notification setup, and diagnostic logs. Organization admins may contact CodeAchi support for cloud access, licence, billing, or unresolved product errors. Members should contact their library.

Cloud setup and Local setup are separate data worlds. Always reproduce and diagnose the problem in the setup where the transaction occurred.
