Data-quality center
Open Advanced Manager > Data-quality center to check member and catalog information in CodeAchi Libcodesk - Easy Library Management Software. Checks identify records for review; they do not merge, delete or relink anything.
Before you start
Select the library in the main header. You need permission to view members or collections in that library; only the permitted areas are checked. Changing a record also requires its existing edit permission. Libcodesk WebApp and the Standalone app use the records in your current Cloud setup or Local setup.
Run and review checks
- Choose Run checks. Watch the checked-record count and progress.
- Wait for completion for a full result. Stop ends the current check; the results may be incomplete. If an interruption leaves Resume checks available, use it to continue. A failed check needs a new run.
- Choose a category or All checks. The category counts describe findings, not the number of distinct affected records; one record can appear in several checks.
- In Libcodesk WebApp, choose Review from the finding's action menu. In the Standalone app, use the finding's review button. Read the guidance and page through the matching records.
- Choose Open record to open the specific member or catalog record. Compare the original information before using the existing edit controls.
- After saving, return and choose Run checks again. Refresh results reloads the existing findings; it does not check your corrections again. Use the displayed observation time to recognize older results.
Changing the selected library resets the results shown on this page. Always confirm the library before starting again.
Understand the six categories
| Category | What to review |
|---|---|
| Duplicate members | Compare Member ID, email, phone and membership details. A matching name alone does not identify the same person. |
| Duplicate catalog records | Compare title, ISBN, edition, publisher and format. Different editions can share a title. Holdings of the same catalog record are not separate bibliographic duplicates. |
| Invalid identifiers | Check the recorded ISBN or ISSN against the item or a trusted catalog. An absent identifier is not automatically invalid. |
| Missing covers | Add a cover through the existing catalog record. This detects an absent cover value; it does not test whether a remote image can be downloaded. |
| Inconsistent names | Compare recorded member or publisher spellings. Preserve intentional accents, language and name order. |
| Unlinked copies | Ask your organization admin to investigate the copy and its library/catalog relationship. This page offers no relinking or deletion action. |
Possible match means the records need judgment. Confirmed issue describes the detected condition, such as an invalid identifier or absent cover; it does not authorize automatic cleanup. A catalog record with zero copies is valid.
Screens and controls
The Standalone app presents findings as a paginated list. Open a finding to review its related records, then use a record's action menu to review or edit it where permitted. Both lists show 25 entries per page. Copy-link findings provide evidence for admin review, without a record editing or relinking action.
In Libcodesk WebApp, findings appear in a table and the Review window lists the related records on separate pages. On a narrow screen, scroll the table horizontally to reach its action menu. Use the pagination controls for both findings and review records.
Use Tab to move between controls, Enter or Space to activate buttons, and Escape to close the review window. Keep names in their original script when using another interface language.
Troubleshooting and safe practice
- If checks are unavailable, select a library and ask your organization admin to confirm your viewing permissions.
- If a result or record cannot be opened, retry and check your current library and access. The record may have changed since the check.
- Review each record before correcting it. Do not remove a person or edition solely because a name or title matches.
- For broken copy relationships, retain the finding details for your organization admin instead of guessing a replacement record.
Frequently asked questions
Why is a finding still present after I edited the record?
The results describe the earlier check. Run checks again after saving; refreshing the list alone does not reassess the record.
Does a completed check prove that every record is correct?
No. It covers the available checks and the records you can view in the selected library. Review the meaning of each finding and continue normal cataloging checks.
