Scan ISBN Or Barcode
The Standalone OPAC app can offer Scan book from Search on devices with a supported camera. Scanning fills the search using the detected ISBN or barcode; it does not issue, return, or download the item.
Scan A Code
- Open Search.
- Choose the scanner icon or Scan book.
- Allow camera access when the device asks.
- Hold the ISBN or barcode inside the scanning area with adequate light.
- Confirm the detected value and review the search results.
If more than one catalogue record matches, select the correct title and library from the results.
Troubleshooting
- Clean the camera lens and improve lighting.
- Move the device slowly until the complete code is visible.
- Enter the ISBN or barcode manually when camera access is unavailable.
- A code may be valid but absent from the selected library; choose All libraries when permitted.
Do And Don'ts
- Do verify the title before placing a hold.
- Do grant camera permission only to the trusted Libcodesk OPAC app.
- Don't assume scanning an accession label will work unless that value is searchable in OPAC.
- Don't repeatedly scan while a search is already loading.

Camera scanning is currently a device-specific Standalone OPAC app feature. Enter the ISBN or barcode in Web OPAC Search.
