CodeAchi Libcodesk User Guide

Welcome to the official guide for CodeAchi Libcodesk, formerly known as CodeAchi Library Management System.

Libcodesk is built for libraries that want the trusted simplicity of the earlier CodeAchi desktop software, with modern options for cloud access, local operation, native apps, digital collections, localization, and stronger daily workflows.

What Has Changed

CodeAchi Library Management System began as a desktop-based local software product, especially useful for small libraries that needed a dependable system on one computer. CodeAchi Libcodesk keeps that familiar strength, but expands it into a fuller hybrid library platform.

Libcodesk is designed for:

  • Browser access through Libcodesk WebApp.
  • Native app workflows for supported Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iPhone, and iPad devices.
  • Cloud setup for teams that need centralized access from multiple devices.
  • Local setup for libraries that prefer controlled device-local operation.

The product has also grown beyond the old desktop-only model:

  • Multiple localization options help more staff work in their preferred language.
  • eBooks, audiobooks, barcode/QR workflows, and RFID-ready workflows are now part of the product direction.
  • Member, staff, import, permission, guide, and reporting workflows are more structured and easier to operate.
  • The Standalone app remains important, with upgrades for libraries that still prefer installed software.

For existing CodeAchi Library Management System users, the goal is continuity plus growth. The strong parts of the earlier software are being kept and improved, while earlier limitations around access, collaboration, localization, digital resources, and automation are being turned into stronger product areas.

For a shorter product explanation, read What Is CodeAchi Libcodesk?.

This guide is organized for the people who use the software every day:

  • Admins who configure the organization, libraries, staff, plans, and members.
  • Staff who manage library operations and member records.
  • Members who use member-facing access, search, and account tools.

How To Use This Guide

Use the left navigation to move by topic. Each page is written as a practical workflow with the same basic pattern:

  1. Who can use the feature.
  2. What to check before starting.
  3. Step-by-step instructions.
  4. Common errors and how to fix them.
  5. Related guides.

Supported Surfaces

Libcodesk includes multiple working surfaces:

  • Libcodesk WebApp for cloud administration in a browser.
  • Standalone app for supported Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iPhone, and iPad workflows.
  • Standalone app Local setup for organizations that need device-local operation.
  • Standalone app cloud setup for native access to cloud data.

The guide calls out differences only when the workflow behaves differently.

Versioned Help

Use the version selector in the header to match this guide with the Libcodesk version you are using. Newer versions may add, move, or polish features, so each guide version is kept as a separate reference.

Screenshots And Devices

Workflow pages can include desktop, tablet, and mobile screenshots for the same task. This helps admins and staff recognize the same workflow whether they use a browser, desktop Standalone app, tablet, or phone.

Do And Don'ts

Do
  • Use the version selector before following a workflow.
  • Start from the left navigation when you are learning a new area.
  • Check whether a guide is for Libcodesk WebApp, Standalone app, Cloud setup, or Local setup.
Don't
  • Don't assume every screen is identical on desktop, tablet, and mobile.
  • Don't follow an older version guide if your software has newer menus or fields.
  • Don't contact CodeAchi support for staff/member access issues unless you are the organization admin.

FAQ

Who should read this page?

Admins and staff should read this page when they need to understand or complete the Libcodesk User Guide workflow in Libcodesk.

Does this work in both Libcodesk WebApp and Standalone app?

When a workflow differs between Libcodesk WebApp and the Standalone app, the guide points out the setup-specific step so staff can follow the right path.

Does local setup use the same steps?

Local setup follows the same user workflow where the feature exists, but the work stays on the Standalone app device instead of Cloud setup.

What permission do I need?

If you cannot see the menu or action, your staff role probably does not include the required permission. Ask your organization admin to review your role.

Why is the Save button disabled?

Save and update buttons stay disabled until Libcodesk detects a real change. This prevents accidental writes, unnecessary logs, and duplicate requests.

How do I fix validation errors?

Read the message beside the active button or inside the modal. Required fields, duplicate values, invalid dates, and permission issues must be corrected before saving.

Can I use imports instead of manual entry?

Where import is available, it is recommended for larger datasets. Always validate the file first and review row-level errors before importing.

Where should staff or members ask for help?

Staff should contact their organization admin. Members should contact their library. Organization admins may contact CodeAchi for license, billing, or cloud access issues.
