Software Updates
The Standalone app quietly checks for new releases after the main screen opens. When an update is available, a small notice shows the new version without interrupting your current work.
The notice keeps the version, download progress, and actions together with balanced spacing. What's new, Later, and Update now remain clear of the notice edge even when the window is narrow and the actions wrap.
Review And Install An Update
- Open About and choose Software Update.
- Select Check for updates if you want to check immediately.
- Read What's new to understand the changes in the release.
- Select Update now.
- Allow the installer or device store to finish the update, then reopen Libcodesk when prompted.
For a direct Windows installation, Libcodesk downloads and verifies the installer, displays installation progress, closes the application when the upgrade is ready, and reopens it after a successful update. Windows may still request administrator approval. Store-installed editions open their device store so the store can complete the update safely. Your library data is not removed by a normal application update.
The Software Update page and update notice show the downloaded percentage beside the progress bar when the download size is available. At 100%, the app verifies the download before starting installation; downloading is complete, but installation is still pending. When the download size is unavailable, the bar stays indeterminate until the download finishes. This works the same way in a Cloud setup and a Local setup.
An optional update can be postponed with Remind me later. The app will show it again later. If no newer release is available, the page shows the installed version and confirms that no update is required.
Updates In Libcodesk WebApp
Open About > Software Update for update guidance and the official Standalone app download page. Browser updates are delivered automatically. Finish current work before reloading the browser to load the latest available version. To check or install an update for the Standalone app, use its own About > Software Update page.
Before Updating
- Finish any active issue, return, renewal, import, or payment transaction before choosing Update now.
- Keep the device connected to power during a large update.
- Use a stable internet connection and do not run an installer received from an unofficial link.
- In a Local setup, keep your normal database-backup routine. Updating the app is not a replacement for backing up library data.
If An Update Does Not Install
- Check the internet connection and available disk space.
- Open Software Update and retry.
- If a store page opens, complete the update from that store.
- If the problem continues, note the current version and the displayed error. Organization admins may contact CodeAchi support; staff should contact their organization admin.
FAQ
Can I continue working when an update notice appears?
Yes, when Later is available. It closes the notice for the current login session, and the dashboard shows the update again after your next login if it is still available. Finish important transactions before installing the update.
Where can I see the release notes again?
Open About > Software Update. The latest release notes remain available on that page.
Why does the update open a store?
Store-installed editions are updated by their device store. This keeps store signing and platform update checks intact.
