Reading Room Reservations

Open Reading Room > Assets > Reservations to create staff-assisted bookings and review upcoming or previous reservations for the active library.

Enter the member name or Member ID and choose Search, or press Enter, then select the correct result. The selected member's photo is shown when available, with a placeholder when a photo cannot be displayed. Choose Find availability after selecting the member, room, and date to review available positions.

Create A Reservation

  1. Search and select the member.
  2. Choose the room and date.
  3. Select an available time and table or seat.
  4. Review duration, Membership Plan eligibility, conflicts, and charge where applicable.
  5. Confirm and review the resulting status.

Cancellation availability follows the configured deadline and permissions. Paid or historically significant reservations remain traceable even after cancellation.

Member Reservations From The Online Catalogue

When a member reserves a Reading Room from the online catalogue, the booking appears automatically in the cloud setup's Reading Room > Reservations view, normally within about 15 seconds. The same reservation can then be checked in, completed, or cancelled by authorized staff. Those status changes also refresh automatically in the member's My Reservations list.

The Standalone app keeps its local Reading Room data separate. Online catalogue reservations are not copied into a Local setup.

Do And Don'ts

  • Do confirm the member and timezone before saving.
  • Do cancel unused reservations early.
  • Don't reserve a position outside room operating hours.
  • Don't promise a position until the result shows confirmed.

FAQ

Why is a reservation pending?

It may require payment or another configured confirmation condition. Review the visible status and member charge.

On narrow screens, New reservation appears on its own row below the section title. Filters remain full width in narrow windows to keep their selected values readable. Rooms / Areas and Tables & Seats use the same responsive section-header pattern.
