Label Printer Settings

Libcodesk WebApp can prepare PDF files from saved label lists. It does not control your local printer directly because browser printing is managed by the browser, operating system, PDF viewer, and printer driver.

Use the Standalone app for:

  • Printer selection
  • Direct Print
  • Calibration test print
  • Offset correction
  • Roll label correction
  • DPI or density options where the printer supports them
  1. Prepare the label list.
  2. Choose a template.
  3. Preview the first labels.
  4. Print the alignment test at 100% actual size.
  5. Measure the horizontal and vertical 100 mm rulers and enter those measurements in the printer profile.
  6. Save the profile when the validation message shows the measurements are within tolerance.
  7. Print one real label.
  8. Scan the barcode.
  9. Print the full batch only after the test succeeds.

Printer Profiles​

Printer profiles save correction values for a label printer or sheet setup. Use a profile when the label prints slightly too high, too low, too far left, too far right, or when a roll printer needs a specific paper and DPI setting.

Create one profile for each printer and label stock combination, such as Front Desk Zebra 50mm or A4 Barcode Sheet. Set the profile you use most often as the default.

When copying a working profile, rename it before changing paper, media type, DPI, or X/Y offset values. Keep the original profile unchanged until the new one has been tested.

Use Export Profile to save a tested printer profile as a .libprinter file. Use Import Profile when you need to reuse that same correction setup in another Libcodesk setup. Imported profiles are saved as new profiles and are not made default automatically, so you can test them before staff use them for daily printing.

Only import printer profiles from a trusted source. After importing, print one test label or test sheet and confirm the barcode scans before using the profile for a full batch.

Alignment Test​

Use Alignment Test before a large batch, after changing label stock, or after selecting a new printer profile.

The test sheet shows rulers, borders, and center marks. Print it at 100% actual size. Measure the horizontal and vertical 100 mm rulers, enter the measured values in the printer profile, and save the profile after the validation message confirms the measurements are within tolerance.

If the printed marks are shifted equally across the page, adjust the printer profile X/Y offsets. X offset moves the generated label positions left or right, and Y offset moves them up or down. Print scale changes the generated label positions and size before the file is sent to the printer, but the PDF viewer or printer dialog must still print at 100% actual size. If the first row is correct but later rows drift, check the Page Layout rows, columns, gaps, margins, and start position before changing offsets.

When To Adjust Offsets​

  • If every label is shifted left or right, adjust the X offset.
  • If every label is shifted up or down, adjust the Y offset.
  • If every row and column grows farther out of line, confirm the print dialog is set to 100% actual size before changing scale.
  • If only later rows drift on a sheet, check Page Layout margins, rows, columns, and gaps first.
  • If barcodes scan on screen but not after printing, increase print quality, label size, or barcode width before changing offsets.
