Install the Standalone App

The Windows installer presents the software agreement before installation, so the Windows first-run setup does not ask for the same acceptance again. Android and other distributions that do not collect agreement acceptance in an installer continue to show the policy acceptance step inside the app.

Use the Standalone app when your library needs CodeAchi Libcodesk on Windows or Android.

Before You Start

  • For Windows, use a Windows 10 or Windows 11 computer.
  • For Android, use a 64-bit phone or tablet running Android 7.0 or newer that permits direct APK installation.
  • Download from libcodesk.com, codeachi.com, the official Microsoft Store listing, or a link shared by CodeAchi support.
  • Keep your local library data backed up if your library uses Local setup.
  • Ask your library administrator whether you should use Cloud setup or Local setup.

Install on Windows

  1. Open the official download page.
  2. Select Windows in the operating-system buttons.
  3. Choose one installation method:
    • Download for Windows downloads the direct installer. Open the setup file, allow Windows to start it, review the License Agreement, and finish the setup steps.
    • Get it from Microsoft Store opens the official Store listing. Choose Get or Install, wait for installation to finish, and then open the app. Microsoft Store manages updates for this installation.
  4. Open CodeAchi Libcodesk from the Start menu or the shortcut provided by your installation method.
  5. Complete the first-run agreement or setup steps when the app displays them.

On Windows, CodeAchi Libcodesk runs as one desktop window at a time. If the app is already open and you use its shortcut again, Windows restores and focuses the existing window instead of opening a second copy.

The Windows setup records the setup file name and whether setup was started or completed. This helps CodeAchi distinguish official website, partner, and support download names without uploading the setup file or your library records.

Install on Android

  1. Open the official download page on your Android phone or tablet.
  2. Select Android in the operating-system buttons.
  3. Choose Download for Android. The APK download starts immediately.
  4. Open the downloaded APK from your browser or Downloads app.
  5. If Android asks, allow your browser or file manager to install apps from this source.
  6. Confirm the installation, then open CodeAchi Libcodesk.
  7. Turn off the temporary install-from-this-source permission afterward if you do not normally use it.

Only install an APK downloaded directly from libcodesk.com. If Android blocks the installation, ask your device administrator before changing managed-device security settings.

The download page also lists macOS, Linux, and Chrome OS. Selecting one of these platforms shows its current availability; no download link appears until an official build is published.

Install the Separate OPAC App

The download page has a separate Libcodesk OPAC card for the member-facing catalogue and self-service app. In that card, select Windows or Android, then choose Download OPAC for Windows or Download OPAC for Android. These downloads do not replace the main Libcodesk app used by library staff.

The OPAC Windows installer is currently unsigned, so confirm that it came from libcodesk.com before proceeding if Windows SmartScreen displays a warning. On Android, install only the APK provided in the Libcodesk OPAC card.

First Run

When the app opens for the first time, choose the setup that matches your library:

  • Cloud setup: sign in with your organization account.
  • Local setup: continue with a local library database on this computer.

If Windows Shows a Warning

Check that the installer came from libcodesk.com or CodeAchi support before opening it. If you are unsure, do not continue. Contact CodeAchi support or your library administrator.

Uninstall

Use Windows Settings or Control Panel to uninstall CodeAchi Libcodesk. The uninstaller asks you to select why you are removing the app. Choose the closest reason; if you choose Other, add a brief explanation. A reason is required before removal can continue.

Keep the computer connected to the internet: the uninstaller records the reason and confirms the removal with the CodeAchi license service before deleting program files. If the confirmation cannot be recorded, no program files are removed and you can retry after restoring the connection. If your library uses Local setup, back up your local library data before removing any local data files.
